About this program

The Alousi fund supports Muslim women in US STEM programs, including incoming college students and graduate students. Its rules do not require Arab ancestry, and the FAQ explicitly permits non-US citizens who plan to build their education and career in the United States. Awards are paid to the institution rather than directly to students. Review is holistic, so the FAQ allows applicants to explain a near miss on an academic benchmark. Source differences require care: the web page lists an ACT/SAT threshold, while the 2026 PDF makes test scores optional. The PDF first mentions FAFSA documentation, then says it is no longer required and requests a financial-need explanation. Applicants should use the current eligibility quiz and confirm those requirements with CAAP.

Source note

Official 2026 PDF and web page disagree on test scores The 2026 PDF internally conflicts about FAFSA; later instructions remove the requirement Do not silently exclude noncitizens or claim Arab ancestry is required Use the academic-scholarships page closed notice over the stale homepage open notice
