New Muslims in Austin

Austin’s public offerings for new Muslims are smaller than Houston’s or DFW’s, and it is more useful to say so than to pad the page. Two institutions publish something specific, and they do different things.

North Austin Muslim Community Center

NAMCC’s official site lists an “Interested in Islam” entry point and Convert Services, and its programs listing includes Converts. The center is at 11900 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78753, and publishes info@namcc.org and +1 (512) 491-7148 as contacts. NAMCC does not publish a fixed class schedule for this, so the practical step is a call or an email asking who handles convert services and when they meet. [1]

ICGA: Reconciled Hearts

The Islamic Center of Greater Austin publishes a Zakah category called Reconciled Hearts, which explicitly includes new Muslims and friends of the Muslim community alongside dawah purposes, and says funds may support new Muslims with shelter, food and utilities. Filling the gaps

Where Austin has no listed beginner class, two things still work. The Houston class offers a Zoom option to participants outside Houston after registration, which is the closest thing to a statewide structured course. And Austin’s institutions, schools and campus organisations are mapped on the Austin page of the Atlas and in the directory, so you can find the nearest congregation and ask in person.
