Texas Constitution, Article I, Section 6: Freedom of Worship
Article I, Section 6 protects worship according to conscience, prohibits compulsory support for worship or ministry, rejects legal preference for a religious society or form of worship, and directs the Legislature to protect each denomination's peaceful public worship equally. This is the constitutional text; its application in a particular dispute also requires the relevant law and judicial decisions.
