Muslim prayer and chaplain support in Dallas hospitals
Clements publishes Friday Muslim prayer; Parkland publishes a shared chapel and a chaplain contact. Those are different services.

Two Dallas hospitals on Harry Hines Boulevard publish useful spiritual-care information, but their pages describe different arrangements. UT Southwestern’s Clements University Hospital lists Salatul-Jumu’ah and says its chapel is available for Salat. Parkland describes a non-denominational chapel and chaplains who respect different beliefs. A shared chapel should not be renamed a dedicated Muslim prayer room. [1] [2]
Clements University Hospital
Clements lists its chapel on the second floor, north side of the atrium, with availability around the clock. The published service schedule includes Friday Salatul-Jumu’ah at 2 p.m. Confirm the service before making a trip, since a posted schedule can change. Spiritual support can be requested at 214-633-4080; the hospital says voicemail triggers a page to the service. [1]
The same page welcomes faith organizations visiting hospitalized members and gives Guest and Patient Services, 214-633-4700, as another route to arrange that visit. It also lists meditation chapels at Zale Lipshy Pavilion and the Cancer Care Outpatient Building. These are separate locations within the system, rather than additional mosques. [1]
Parkland Memorial Hospital
Parkland’s shared chapel is on the first floor of the hospital at 5200 Harry Hines Boulevard. Its spiritual-care page says everyone is welcome regardless of faith and background. To speak with a chaplain, ask a Parkland staff member or call 214-590-8512. [2]
The service describes support with religious, spiritual and ethical concerns, grief and difficult healthcare decisions. The page does not establish a dedicated Muslim room, a Muslim chaplain on every shift or a Friday Muslim service. Ask about the specific assistance needed instead of inferring it from a general chapel listing. [2]
| Hospital | What the official source documents | Contact |
|---|---|---|
| Clements, 6201 Harry Hines Boulevard | Shared chapel available for Salat; listed Friday Muslim service [1] | 214-633-4080 spiritual care [1] |
| Parkland, 5200 Harry Hines Boulevard | Non-denominational first-floor chapel; chaplain support [2] | 214-590-8512 [2] |
Planning a visit
Begin with the patient’s actual hospital and unit. Ask whether the patient can leave the unit, whether a religious visitor needs to be coordinated with staff, and which entrance or elevator is appropriate. If a patient wants an imam from their own congregation, name that preference. A spiritual-care department can help explore arrangements, but a general listing is not a guarantee of a particular person’s availability.
Keep religious support and treatment questions connected to the right staff. The chaplain contact does not replace the treating team, and the presence of a prayer service is not evidence that a whole hospital menu is halal.
The Dallas–Fort Worth atlas provides community context. For other care settings, see the Houston hospital guide and community-clinic records. These two entries are a verified starting point, not an exhaustive Dallas hospital directory.
